ABOUT
Hi, we're John and Chelsea Barzal. We found a home in the Victor Haven neighborhood in November 2021. Since then, we have opened our home as a space to worship God and be in his presence.
In January of 2023, we felt God told us to be more intentional in building relationships in the Victor Haven area. With many clear moments of God's direction spoken into our lives, we hope to share God's goodness and his presence with those around us in many ways.
ABOUT JOHN & CHELSEA
Our Hope
We believe God genuinely loves every person we see and that he desires a relationship with everyone. We don't believe that we as people can convince anyone of God's goodness and love through argument or persuasion, and honestly that's not our goal. We hope that our relationship with the Lord will demonstrate that a life with him is better than without. God is not a genie that makes life magically better, so we are not promising that life gets easy, but he does promise to walk with us through life and that we will never be alone.
If you want to see what we mean, then we invite you to hang out with us. Join one of our gatherings, hang out while we tend the garden, or just stop by when you see us home.
ABOUT THE GARDEN
In June of 2024, John felt like he heard the Lord say "plant," a two-fold direction of opening our doors for church gatherings (often called a church-plant when it's new) and more practically, a garden.
We figure God has given us the tools to create the garden, so we want to share anything that actually comes from the garden. John and our friend Hannah are really the main gardeners, but all they can do it tend to the plants—they can't make them grow! That's where we feel it's really God that makes things grow.
ABOUT THE BREAD
We pick up Panera "Dough-nations" once a week and never really know what they will have left over from that day. Panera makes everything fresh daily, and we are giving the breads, bagels, and pastries a second chance to be used. So, if you see the sign in our yard, bring a bag and take what you can use! Let anyone know about it.
